The PBR Philadelphia Fight would like to thank David Niu and the AMNRL for helping us put on a tremendously successful Grand Final. It was a perfect day in many ways. Great weather, great fans (over 1300), great food, Phillies hall of famer Mike Schmidt, Sports Broadcaster Howard Eskin and what seemed like the whole borough of Conshohocken PA!
We could not have pulled any of this off without the support of Bruce Pilarczyk of Londonbury @ Millenium Apts and his staff. He was able to get Mike Schmidt to promote the game for us and also draw a huge crowd as a result of his attendance. His hosting of the after party at the Londonbury was without question the best event location we have ever had for a league function. If you are looking for an apartment in Conshy, get down there and see them, they are spectacular. Totaro’s Restaurant catered the after party and the food was outstanding, thank you to Andrew and Dan.
To the Star Group for their sponsorship of the VIP tent and the catering of it by Catelli’s Restaurant made the day a wonderful experience, and for also broadcasting the whole event live to the world on the web.
We also could not have put on this event without support from Dennis Harrison from Muller Inc and Fred Crawford from Pabst Blue Ribbon, Dane Gray from Kildare’s Irish Pub, the Borough of Conshohocken Police and their chief Michael Orler, Ed Phipps and Darlene Hildebrand from the Parks and Recreations Dept. Great job to Brian Lowe and Bob Balachandran for an excellent job with the web broadcast, I can’t wait to see it! To Polygel our new league medical sponsor for helping our Team Doctor Jack Kazanjian and Team Trainer Megan Aukett take care of all the players in all three games yesterday. Thanks go to Matt Salvo from the Doubletree Suites in Plymouth Meeting for putting up all the teams and officials in their beautiful hotel. Marilyn Russell from 95.7 Ben FM for pumping up the crowd with all her station giveaways and for promoting the match for a month! Kevin Tierney from Morethanthecurve.com and his seemingly endless promotion and support of the Fight, thanks Kevin! Jim McGilvery from Powerade for supplying all the product for the VIP tent and also all the mix for the 3 games we had.
From the Fight team, special thanks to Peter Illfield our Chairman and Team Manager Donnie Morrison who picked up the pieces anytime something was needed for this event, we could not make this club go without you both.
To our players, Vixens dancers and team management, thank you for all putting in the time to help yesterday with your efforts in playing, working the gates, selling beer, the VIP lots, it all shows what we can get done because we have such a great group of young people that will do whatever is needed to make this club a success.
And last but certainly not least, to the Jacksonville Axemen and New Haven Warriors, you were both fitting champions in your own right out there yesterday. You put on a tremendous show and the crowd appreciated how hard you both fought to get the win. Congratulations to Spinner Howland and Drew Slover the owners of the Champion Jacksonville team on what is a well deserved win that has been a long time coming.
