The USARL Board of Directors (BOD) is pleased to announce the ratification of the initial draft of the USA Rugby League Constitution that was adopted as the cornerstone for the unified future of Rugby League. The constitution draft addressed all current league issues, yet has been developed to allow modification and additions to be added by a BOD as the USARL and Rugby League expands and grows in the United States. The foundation of the constitution (that will soon be released publicly) is to hold Rugby League as its focus, yet also be progressive and thus allow for the long terms future growth of the sport in an even changing and developing market. The PBR Philadelphia Fight wrapped up their 2010 season on Sat August 14 when they bowed out of the AMNRL competition with a determined and hard fought quarter-final loss to the Aston Bulls. Both teams fought hard to gain the upper hand in the 80 minutes of regular time. By the end of the 4th 20minute quarter it was all tied up with the Fight 30, Bulls 30. Both teams posted huge wins Saturday with the Bulls tuning the Fairfax Eagles 96-22 and New Haven belting the Northern Raiders 74-5.

The Conshohocken Borough hosted the first ever 13-a-side Rugby League match at the A.A. Garthwaite Stadium on Saturday 27 June, between the home team, the Pabst Philadelphia Fight and the visiting Washington DC Slayers, with the home team running out convincing winners 72 to 16. The Kildare's Irish Pub Man of the match vs. DC Slayers was Mitch Heumiller who was outstanding at lock. He scored 3 tries as a worthy reward for his continuous hard running. His defense was rock solid, sound and very effective. Mitch hails from Queensland Australia, and played in Manchester England for two seasons prior to joining the Fight this year. The Philadelphia Fight Rugby League Club is hosting a benefit concert in West Chester PA on Saturday February 7th from 2-6pm. We are working with a local bar (The Note) to host a concert with local bands The Urban Achievers and Bryn Mawr. The concert will be used as a fundraiser for the club, but we will also donate a portion of the proceeds (25%) to benefit our charity the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia. The Fairfax Eagles got by a gutsy Philadelphia Fight 34-24 in an earlier game at War at the Shore. Both teams picked up a bonus point for tries, the Eagles dotting down seven times and the Fight five times in strong onshore winds. More detail »
