The Fight held their Annual General Meeting on Saturday December 13, 2008 from 12-3pm. The meeting was held at our team clubhouse Kildares Irish Pub in West Chester PA.
MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF Philadelphia Fight Rugby League Club LLC Date: 12-13-08 Location: 18 W. Gay Street, West Chester PA 19382. Meeting began at 12pm. Meeting ended at 3pm. Attendance sheet signed as written waiver of notice and signed by all the members, fixing such time and place, and prefixed to the minutes of this meeting. The Chairman (Peter Illfield) stated that all of the members were present and brought the meeting to order. We also recognized all player/members in attendance: •Ryan McGough •David Bowe •Peter Illfield •Brad Kielinski •John Evangelista •Joe Bascelli •Josh Tawney •Anthony Chi •Bob Pozun Minutes/Overview from last years minutes submitted and reviewed The Chairman presented his report and, after discussion, the report was accepted and ordered filed with the Secretary. The team constitution was examined; no amendments were made voted on and accepted unanimously to be kept until next season. General members of the board of directors has 3 Vacancies. Board members who have resigned positions are Lance Orndorf (Secretary), Keith Cassidy and Keith McLean (Executive Board Members). Nominations were taken to fill positions. Brad Kielinski and Joe Bascelli were nominated, seconded and both accepted positions. The third open seat was left vacant and will be revisited at the next Board meeting on January 17th, 2009. Life membership positions tabled and will be reviewed next season. Sponsorships-current possibilities, rejections, and proposals under review we presented. Financials-2009 budget, upcoming bills, current bills presented. Fundraisers-ideas for upcoming events that can be considered were put to the board. ALS Association-will pursue more involvement with them for fundraisers and home games. Coaching-will kick off practice sessions in April 2009. Practice fields-possible: West Chester University, United Sports in Downingtown, North Coventry, Sanatoga/Limerick all have sites that are possibilities. Availability and pricing will be looked into. Playing Field-WCU and United Sports. Availability and pricing will be looked into. Feeder club support-Newcastle and Gold Coast will be pursued by Peter Illfield while in Australia to possibly secure sponsorship, kit, training gear, import players for 2009. Player contact list-it was put forth to make list available to all members. Accepted. Player $300 sponsorship-players and board were made aware of the need for all to support the club with a minimum contribution of $300. Selling our kit at fundraisers. We will pursue this if new kit is able to be procured. Polish/American social club in Conshohocken will be pursued by Brad Kielinski and Anthony Meyers will be contacted to pursue Italian/American in Philadelphia for possible use in holding fundraisers. January Fundraiser-club will try and hold a benefit concert at The Note in West Chester on the first week that school resumes in the early afternoon in an effort to raise funds for the club and to benefit ALS. Local college teams-Brad Kielinski will pursue attracting local college teams to attend fundraiser for player recruitment on Face book, my space and Craigs list.
