Iron Sport Gym was founded in 1995 by Steve and Joe Pulcinella as a haven for local weightlifters and powerlifters. They knew enough people that were tired of the lame 'health club' scene that would join them on the quest to build the ultimate gym. The early premise was to have a really great facility for the 'lifter' operated by the 'lifter.'
Since it’s inception Iron Sport Gym has grown to be a local phenomenon in the Delaware County. Our approachable staff and simple price structure has brought the health club world back to where it was and where it still should be. We threw out all the fancy sales gimmicks and hidden fees and we give real world advice on strength training straight from the people who have first hand knowledge of it. We also provide the no-nonsense atmosphere that people really need to get a solid workout.
Iron Sport has a reputation as being a hardcore strength building gym and can boast NFL players, pro wrestlers and top professional strongmen among its clientele but that is only one small part of what we are about. Our club is for everyone who wants to get out of the ‘pick up joint’ scene of the large chain health clubs - everyone who doesn’t want to get bombarded at the entranceway of their club by teenage salesmen who hassle you to upgrade your membership. Members of our gym are treated more like our friends than just clients and that’s the way it should be.
When it comes to memberships you are not dealing with a large faceless corporation or incompetent new employees. Any problems that may arise with memberships or billing are handled by dealing direct, face-to-face with the owners and all problems are taken care of by us on a timely basis.

About Steve Pulcinella
Iron Sport Gym owner Steve Pulcinella has been involved in the 'iron game' since he was very young. As a young boy, watching the " Worlds Strongest Man" contest on The Wide World of Sports in the 70's fueled and cultivated his fascination with weightlifting. Since the early 80's Steve has been a student of strength building and has competed in just about every strength sport there was. This culminated in 1994 when Steve was invited to compete in the Worlds Strongest Man contest. Steve also competes as a professional in the traditional Scottish Highland games and has tossed cabers all over the world. Now in his forties Steve can still be seen training hard, competing and helping others in the gym everyday.
